Mon Studios has officially launched the breeding feature and Stellar Pass in their free-to-play monster-catching MMORPG, Spellborne, enhancing the gaming experience for fans of the genre.
Understanding the Breeding Feature
To utilize the newly introduced breeding feature, players must possess one male and one female monster belonging to the same egg group, although they can belong to different breeds. There are six distinct egg groups that players can explore, allowing for various breeding possibilities. Upon using this feature, the parent monsters will be consumed, resulting in a child monster that inherits the breed of its mother. The offspring will default to being male, but if a female is desired, players can pay an additional 25 Gold Nuggets. This mechanic offers players an opportunity to expand their breeding options, as highlighted by the game’s Head Mod, Frenchy, in an official post on X.
Stat Generation and Anklets
The child monster’s stats will be randomly determined based on the parents’ attributes. For players looking to inherit specific stats from a parent, they will need to employ special items known as Anklets. There are seven types of Anklets, each corresponding to specific stats—such as Health or Stamina. Once an Anklet is used, it will be consumed along with the parents. As for the stats not subjected to an Anklet, they will be randomly generated within the range set by the parents. For instance, if the male monster has an Attack (ATK) of 40 and the female monster’s ATK is 50, the child’s ATK will be a random value between 40 and 50.
Players can begin using this breeding feature by visiting the Petz Store in the first city and interacting with the NPC to combine their chosen monsters for a chance at stronger offspring.
Introducing the Stellar Pass
The Stellar Pass is an innovative battle pass system designed to enhance the daily missions framework. By participating in this battle pass, players can earn exclusive items, including three unique skins, six distinct tools, and over 150 gold nuggets. The battle pass consists of a total of 50 levels, featuring new rewards such as profile borders, emojis, and loading screens. Skins obtained through this pass will eventually transition to NFT status, as confirmed by a moderator on the official Discord server.
Missions and Progression
With the introduction of the Stellar Pass, players will also engage in weekly missions complementing the existing daily missions. Tasks range from simply logging in to completing specific actions like feeding crops to monsters. Successfully completing these missions will grant players experience points (XP), helping them to advance through the battle pass and unlock an array of rewards. Additionally, players can purchase levels in the Stellar Pass using Gold Nuggets at a cost of 10 Nuggets per level, and multiple levels can be acquired simultaneously. New missions will continue to be added over time to maintain variety.
The Stellar Pass features unique monthly themes, which will offer different rewards. It’s important to note that the rewards available through the battle pass will not be accessible in the game’s store for at least 12 months.
How to Purchase the Stellar Pass
Players can acquire the inaugural Stellar Pass, titled the Golden Ages of Celestia, by navigating to the Seasons menu and selecting the third tab to access the battle pass purchase option. The Stellar Pass is priced at $15, and further details on depositing the required tokens into your game wallet can be found on this documentation page. Additionally, purchasing the pass grants players 100 Store Points. Players also have the option to gift Stellar Pass subscriptions, receiving 150 Store Points for each subscription given. Store Points play a key role in Spellborne’s Season 1, tracking player activity and contributing towards an upcoming token airdrop.
