Introducing World Chat: A New Messaging Tool by World
World (formerly known as Worldcoin) has introduced World Chat, a new messaging feature integrated into the World App. This “Mini App” enables users to communicate and transact in cryptocurrencies within the World Network, revolutionizing digital interactions.
What are Mini Apps?
- Mini Apps are lightweight web-based applications embedded within the World App.
- Developers can access a vast global user base of over 24 million, including 11.3 million verified users.
Key Features of World Chat
- Linked to World ID and the World App wallet for user verification.
- Reduces bot-driven spam and fraudulent activities for trustworthy online conversations.
- End-to-end encryption ensures secure messaging across the network.
Enhanced User Experience
Verified users on World Chat display blue chat bubbles and a World ID gem for added trust. Non-verified accounts appear in grey bubbles without the gem, offering different levels of credibility.
Developers can integrate World Chat into their Mini Apps, enabling seamless messaging and friend invitations within the World App. This integration promotes user interaction and engagement.
WLD’s Value Decline
Despite the launch of World Chat, World’s native token, WLD, has faced challenges with its value dropping below $1. Data from CryptoSlate shows a 26% decrease in the past month, hitting $0.8813 on March 4.
Although WLD has slightly rebounded to $0.95766, it remains significantly lower than its peak of $11 in March 2024. This decline comes amidst World’s expansion into new countries and verification of over 10 million individuals on its digital identity network.
Regulatory Challenges
While World continues to grow, regulatory scrutiny poses a significant obstacle. Authorities in various countries have raised concerns about World’s compliance with privacy laws and data management practices, particularly regarding biometric data.
Despite these challenges, World maintains its commitment to adhering to all regulations in the regions where it operates.
