Upcoming Crypto Roundtable Discussions by SEC
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced four more crypto roundtable discussions, following the success of its first one on March 21.
Event Details:
- The next roundtable, titled “Between a Block and a Hard Place: Tailoring Regulation for Crypto Trading,” will take place on April 11.
- Subsequent discussions are scheduled for April 25, May 12, and June 6.
Commissioner’s Perspective
Commissioner Hester M. Peirce, who leads the Crypto Task Force, emphasized the importance of these roundtables, stating: “The Crypto Task Force discussions provide a platform for experts to address regulatory challenges and propose solutions.”
Shifting Regulatory Landscape
Launched under acting SEC chair Mark Uyeda on January 21, the Crypto Task Force aims to establish a clear regulatory framework for crypto assets, reflecting the SEC’s evolving stance on the industry.
Following recent developments, including dropping lawsuits against major crypto companies like Coinbase and Ripple, the SEC is demonstrating a more favorable approach towards the sector.
With Paul Atkins nominated as the next SEC chair, pending confirmation due to paperwork delays, the agency continues to navigate the changing crypto landscape under new leadership.
