New Beginnings: Vaulta – The Future of Web3 Banking
On March 18, the EOS Network made a groundbreaking announcement – a rebrand to Vaulta. This strategic shift towards web3 banking signifies a bold move to merge decentralized technology with traditional financial systems. The transition, which includes a token swap, is set to take place in late May 2025, pending confirmation.
Revolutionizing the Financial Landscape
Vaulta’s evolution represents years of dedicated development to harness Bitcoin’s increasing influence in global finance. The platform aims to establish itself as a scalable operating system for web3 banking, offering lightning-fast transactions, seamless blockchain connectivity, and decentralized data management.
“This transformation represents more than just a name change; it’s a decisive step forward in our mission to deliver open, accessible financial access for everyone.” – Yves La Rose, CEO and founder of Vaulta Foundation
Strategic Partnerships and Integration
As part of the rebrand, Vaulta will create a Banking Advisory Council composed of experts from traditional finance and blockchain sectors. This council will offer strategic guidance to bridge the gap between legacy banking and DeFi. Notable members include Lawrence Truong, Didier Lavalle, Alexander Nelson, and Jonathan Rizzo.
“Vaulta’s realignment towards Web3 Banking is a significant development for the industry. This move not only opens the door for traditional funds to enter DeFi through Bitcoin but also paves the way for greater institutional acceptance.” – Alexander Nelson, Senior Director of Digital Finance at ATB Financial
Vaulta will collaborate with exSat, a Bitcoin digital banking solution, to solidify Bitcoin’s position as the cornerstone of its decentralized financial ecosystem. The platform’s technological infrastructure, previously developed under EOS, boasts C++ smart contract architecture, a decentralized on-chain RAM database, and multi-chain interoperability features.
Future of Web3 Banking
Vaulta aims to focus on four core areas in web3 banking: Wealth Management, Consumer Payments, Portfolio Management, and Insurance. These pillars will enable innovative financial applications like blockchain-native yield generation, real-world asset (RWA) investments, and tailored insurance solutions. The firm has also announced strategic partnerships with Ceffu, Spirit Blockchain, and Blockchain Insurance Inc.
Stay tuned for additional partnerships in the pipeline. The token ticker and swap portal launch is scheduled for late May, with further updates to follow.
