The Success of World Liberty Financial (WLFI) Token Sale
President Donald Trump’s family DeFi project, World Liberty Financial (WLFI), has recently completed its highly successful WLFI token sale, raising an impressive $590 million. This achievement has positioned WLFI among the top ten largest token fundraising events in the crypto industry, according to Satoshi Club.
Overview of WLFI Token
- WLFI boasts a total supply of 100 billion tokens, with 35% allocated for public distribution.
- The token serves as a governance asset for WLF’s upcoming decentralized trading platform, enabling holders to vote on key proposals and actively participate in community decision-making.
- The token sale commenced in October 2024, offering 20 billion WLFI tokens at an initial price of $0.015 each to whitelisted participants. Originally targeting $300 million, the project later revised its goal to $30 million due to initial weak demand.
- Following Donald Trump’s reelection in 2024, interest in WLFI surged, resulting in the complete sale of the initial 20 billion tokens by Jan. 20. Subsequently, an additional 5 billion tokens were released to meet the rising demand.
WLFI’s Crypto Holdings
Aside from its successful token sale, WLFI has been actively expanding its crypto holdings in recent months. According to Spot On Chain, the project recently invested $100,000 USDC to acquire 541,242 SEI tokens at $0.185 per token.
Currently, WLF holds 1.089 million SEI tokens, purchased for $225,000 and now valued at approximately $207,000. Moreover, since the market downturn in late February, the project has invested $21.6 million in acquiring various cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum (ETH), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Movement (MOVE), and SEI.
According to Arkham Intelligence data, WLFI’s crypto portfolio is currently estimated at nearly $78 million. This includes holdings of 7,900 ETH valued at $15 million, $14.82 million in USDT, and 162 WBTC valued at approximately $13.44 million. Additionally, the project has invested $9.4 million in staked Ethereum, $9 million in Tron (TRX), and significant amounts in Movement, Ondo, and Usacoin.
