Ragnarok Landverse Genesis, a new iteration of the popular Ragnarok Online MMORPG, is gearing up for launch on the Ronin blockchain. Developed by Maxion and published by Gravity, this game retains the beloved 2D anime-inspired world while incorporating modern elements like blockchain-based assets and cross-platform play.
Platform Availability
Initially, PC players will have access to the game, with a mobile version currently in the works. The goal is to enable seamless gameplay across both platforms, allowing players to continue their adventures wherever and whenever they choose.
Pre-Registration and Closed Beta Test
Over 395,000 players have already pre-registered for Ragnarok Landverse Genesis. Interested individuals can secure their spot by signing up on the official website before the official launch.
The Closed Beta Test (CBT) is scheduled to take place from February 20 to 26, 2025. Early registrants will have the opportunity to test the game before its full release, focusing on gameplay mechanics, character progression, and server performance. Feedback gathered during this phase will be used to make necessary adjustments before the official launch.

Ragnarok Landverse Genesis follows the traditional MMORPG format, allowing players to create characters, explore an open world, complete quests, and engage in battles. While it retains the essence of the original Ragnarok Online, new features have been introduced:

Ragnarok Landverse Genesis operates on the Ronin blockchain, a network designed for efficient gaming transactions. Players will have the option to own and trade in-game assets as NFTs, including character skins, item ownership, and earning rewards through in-game activities.
However, these blockchain features are not mandatory, allowing players to opt for a traditional MMORPG experience without engaging with NFTs or the in-game economy.
Partnerships and Development
Maxion has collaborated with Gravity, the original creators of Ragnarok Online, to develop Ragnarok Landverse Genesis. The decision to launch on Ronin follows the success of a previous version on the BNB Chain, attracting over 400,000 players and generating $18.9 million in revenue.
With the support of Ronin, the game aims to offer a stable and scalable experience for a large player base. While existing Ragnarok Landverse players cannot transfer their assets immediately, plans are in place to migrate older servers to Ronin in the future.
