Metaplanet’s Latest Bitcoin Purchase Amid Market Dip

Adding $60 Million Worth of BTC to Holdings
Despite Bitcoin’s recent price fluctuations, Metaplanet seized the opportunity to acquire nearly 620 BTC at an average price of $97,861 per bitcoin. The total purchase amounted to $60 million, further solidifying Metaplanet’s position as a major Bitcoin holder.
With a total of 1,761.98 BTC acquired at an average price of $75,500 per Bitcoin, Metaplanet has invested over 20.872 billion yen in Bitcoin purchases since its first acquisition in May.
Metaplanet vs. MicroStrategy
Metaplanet has been likened to “Asia’s MicroStrategy” due to its strategic Bitcoin acquisitions. MicroStrategy, a US-listed company, currently holds 439,000 BTC acquired for approximately $27.1 billion.
Metaplanet’s BTC Yield between Oct. 1 and Dec. 23 reached 310%, showcasing the effectiveness of its Bitcoin acquisition strategy. This is a significant increase from the 41.7% BTC yield reported between July and September 2024.
