- Offer exposure to Bitcoin price movements without owning the crypto
The New Era of Bitcoin Options
These groundbreaking options will be linked to the Cboe Bitcoin US ETF Index, which tracks the performance of spot Bitcoin ETFs listed on US exchanges. This innovative product aims to provide investors with a seamless way to capitalize on Bitcoin price fluctuations without the need to directly hold the digital asset.
Features of the Options:
- Standard and mini index options available
- Customizable FLEX options for tailored trading strategies
- Cash settlement for hassle-free closing of positions
- European-style exercise mechanism to minimize risks
Breaking Barriers with Mini Options
In addition to standard index options, Cboe is introducing mini options under the ticker MBTX. These mini options, valued at 1/10th of the notional value of standard options, cater to traders with diverse portfolio sizes and offer increased flexibility in trading.
Embracing Digital Assets
Cboe’s foray into Bitcoin options is part of its larger strategy to expand its digital asset derivatives portfolio. The exchange already supports Bitcoin and Ethereum margin futures on its digital platform, with plans to transition these futures to the Cboe Futures Exchange in the near future.
Adam Inzirillo, Global Head of Data and Access Solutions at Cboe, expressed his excitement about the launch, highlighting Cboe’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of investors in the digital asset space.
With a strong track record in listing US spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, Cboe is positioned as a leader in the digital asset market evolution.
