Introducing GrokAI: Elon Musk’s Next-Gen AI Chatbot
GrokAI, the latest artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot developed within Elon Musk’s tech ecosystem, has made its debut on the popular messaging platform Telegram. This move marks a significant milestone for Grok, expanding beyond its initial platform.
Elon Musk’s Announcement on Telegram
Elon Musk himself confirmed the news on Twitter, stating, “Grok now on Telegram.” This announcement signifies the chatbot’s availability to a wider audience on the Telegram platform.
Exclusive Access for Premium Users
GrokAI is currently accessible only to Telegram users with a premium subscription. Interested users can initiate conversations with the chatbot by searching for “GrokAI” on the Telegram platform. However, certain advanced features like “Think” and “DeepSearch” remain exclusive to the X platform or the standalone Grok app.
Telegram’s Milestone Achievement
Telegram recently reached a major milestone by surpassing 1 billion monthly active users. Pavel Durov, the founder of the messaging application, shared this news, positioning Telegram as the world’s third-largest messaging platform after WhatsApp and WeChat.
Furthermore, Durov highlighted the increased engagement levels on the platform, with users opening the app an average of 21 times per day and spending approximately 41 minutes daily. Telegram’s financial success was also underscored, with the platform generating $547 million in profit in 2024.
AI Expansion Across Platforms
GrokAI’s expansion reflects a broader trend in the AI industry, where more chatbots are diversifying across multiple platforms to reach new audiences. This strategic move aligns with the industry’s shift towards embedding smart assistants into various applications to enhance user experiences.
OpenAI’s introduction of ChatGPT on WhatsApp, coupled with voice support for North America, exemplifies this trend. AI companies are striving to establish themselves as the default AI layer across messaging, search, and conversational platforms.
