Revolutionizing Gotchi Guardians with Browser-Based Gameplay
Aavegotchi’s popular game title Gotchi Guardians has made a significant leap forward with the introduction of its browser-based version. This update eliminates the need for external game launchers or downloads, allowing players to easily access the game directly through the official Gotchi Guardians website. This move not only simplifies access but also speeds up the onboarding process for new users.
Enhancing Player Experience with Aavegotchi Skins and Customization
One of the key features of the update is the introduction of on-chain Aavegotchi skins. Players who own Aavegotchis can now equip them as visual skins for their Guardians during gameplay. While these skins do not impact in-game performance, they provide a unique way for players to showcase their collections and express themselves. Players can select skins through the Guardians selector, with a brief loading time depending on the asset.
Streamlining G-Bucks Purchases with GHST
Players can now purchase in-game currency, known as G-Bucks, using GHST—the native token of the Aavegotchi ecosystem—on the Base blockchain. This development follows Coinbase’s recent support for GHST deposits and withdrawals, making it easier for users to acquire and use GHST. Players can fund their Aavegotchi Player Profile with GHST and use it in the Gotchi Guardians shop to buy G-Bucks and in-game items. The team plans to further simplify this transaction flow in the future.
Introducing Spectator Mode and Gameplay Updates
The update also includes the addition of Spectator Mode, allowing players to join custom lobbies and watch battles without participating. This feature offers a new way to engage with gameplay, learn strategies, and observe community matches. Additionally, the update includes various balance patches and minor bug fixes, with detailed patch notes available on the Gotchi Guardians Notion page.
Earning GHST Rewards with Community Clip Campaign
To boost player-generated content and social media presence, the Aavegotchi team has launched the “Show Us Your Clips” initiative. Players who record or stream gameplay and submit highlight clips can earn GHST token rewards ranging from 100 to 1,000 GHST based on factors like entertainment value, novelty, effort, and social media engagement. Selected clips will be featured on official Aavegotchi and Gotchi Guardians channels, with the opportunity for additional exposure if shared by the team.
This program is currently in a pilot phase and may undergo adjustments in the future. Clip submissions are being accepted through a dedicated Typeform link.
The game is currently in alpha (version 0.8.5) but aims to reach a multi-platform 1.0 release in the future. Exciting tournaments and community events are also in the pipeline, urging early participants to hone their skills for upcoming competitions.
Players can jump into the action by visiting the official Gotchi Guardians website, and are encouraged to join the Aavegotchi Discord community to stay updated, share feedback, and connect with fellow Guardians.
