El Salvador’s Bitcoin Acquisitions Surpass 20 BTC in a Week
El Salvador has significantly increased its Bitcoin acquisitions, obtaining more than 20 BTC within the last week.

- The government made over 50% of the acquisition in a single day on Feb. 3, acquiring 11 BTC for $1.1 million.
- On the remaining days of the week, the country continued with its daily 1 BTC purchase.
- This recent surge in purchases has boosted El Salvador’s Bitcoin reserves by 60 BTC, equivalent to $5.9 million, over the past month.
El Salvador’s Bitcoin Holdings and Unrealized Profits
El Salvador currently holds 6,068 BTC, valued at over $592 million. The country’s unrealized profit stands at more than $168 million, as reported by Nayibtracker data.
Regulatory Adjustments and Commitment to Bitcoin Reserves
Following modifications to the nation’s Bitcoin regulations to align with conditions set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a $1.4 billion loan, El Salvador’s National Bitcoin Office director Stacy Herbert reiterated the country’s dedication to growing its Bitcoin reserves.
In a statement, Herbert emphasized, “El Salvador is Bitcoin Country.”
