The US-based cryptocurrency exchange revealed the acquisition on Jan. 31, emphasizing the importance of this move in reaching the next one billion users on-chain. Coinbase plans to leverage Spindl’s platform to boost on-chain ads traction and support developers creating apps for blockchain adoption.
According to a tweet by Base, the team at Spindl will assist builders in going viral on-chain and gaining distribution on Coinbase and throughout the on-chain economy.
“The Spindl team brings unmatched expertise in on-chain advertising, helping builders accelerate their reach while bringing more users on-chain by connecting builders with both Coinbase users and users across the on-chain economy. Their work will be crucial to expanding the ways we elevate and support builders,” Coinbase stated in a blog post.
Spindl, under the leadership of Antonio Garcia-Martinez, will continue to operate on Base, ensuring uninterrupted support for existing customers. Garcia-Martinez, known for his contributions to Facebook’s ad targeting features, founded Spindl in 2022.
