The letter sent by the committee was addressed to prominent figures in the crypto industry, including Uniswap Labs CEO Hayden Adams, Coinbase co-founder and CEO Brian Armstrong, a16z co-founder Marc Andreessen, Kraken CEO David Ripley, Lightspark CEO David Marcus, and Blockchain Association CEO Kristin Smith.
Senate Banking Committee Involvement
The Senate Banking Committee is also taking an interest in the issue of debanking in the crypto industry. A hearing is scheduled for February 5, 2025, to further investigate this matter.
Committee chair Tim Scott expressed concerns about the implications of debanking, stating that it goes against American values and that all legal businesses should be treated equally.
